You didn't didn't say what else you've tried, but there are many other medications available other than imitrex and amerge, the most obvious, initial combination being prednisone and verapamil.
Many of us are having success with topamax, which you might mention to your doctor, as he (or she) might not be aware of it, as it is fairly new.
So don't despair -- there's help out there somewhere, and I've found this message board to be a great source of information and comfort, even in the worst of times. Yes, there's the occasional stray nut case,but the vast majority of the folks here are truly wonderful, and are here to offer their support, and their knowledge, which in some cases is considerable.
I hope things get better for you sooner rather than later.
