Like much else with CH, I suspect people's experience of rebound headaches varies. Mine was unmistakeable. I tried using imitrex injections back when they first came out. At the time, my CH were occurring 2/day -- one at 5 AM, one at 5 PM. I'd take an injection for the 5 AM HA and it would promptly go away, only to return in a couple of hours. (Normally, my CH only usually last 45 min to an hour and a half). I had the same experience several times, and gave up on imitrex. I've had no rebound headaches with any other CH medication, including cafergot, oxygen, and DHE. For me, at least, rebound is a specific effect of imitrex.
