My son suffers from CH, as I too did.

John started having migranes (?) in the 6th grade and they lasted for several years. He was put on
Periactin at that time. When he turned 17, the CH's started. He's now 28.

Mine started in my early 20's, somewhere around
1957. No one had a clue as to what I had and the only med. prescribed was Tylenol 3, which
did nothing but upset my stomach. Blaming the
fact that I got a screaming headache( around 3am) on laying down, I slept in an upright position in a chaise lounge for 6 weeks, twice a year. Luckily my headaches usually came around 7am., 9 pm and 2:30 am., so it didn't interfere too much with my job, as I raised 3 kids alone.

Needless to say, when John started having his in 1989, I didn't know a whole lot about the treatment of clusters. He, too, went the Tylenol 3 route for several years. We finally found a
knowledgeable Dr. just last year and have
found Prednisone stops his cycle on the second day.

I know how you suffer when your little one suffers. My heart goes out to you.

My clusters just stopped cold in 1986 and I haven't had one since. I was 49, and had just had hysterectomy.
