Finding a Diagnosis

I was searching for information about Cluster headaches when I stumbled upon this site. Let me first say... It is wonderfully done!

I am 29 and have recently started having extremely painful headaches. I am a nurse, so like any good nurse , I attempted everything I could think of to end my headaches before I sought medical attention. Nothing I tried worked, so I ended up seeing my general practice doctor.

After many questions, and pushing around on my head, face, and neck, she decided that I might be describing cluster headaches and she started me on Elavil at night and Naprolen during the day. She wants me to try that for a week and if my headaches are not relieved, she will order blood work and a CT of my head. She said that very often with cluster headaches, that combination of medications helps within a few days.

Today is day 5 and I have found no relief yet. I have read most of the information on this site, but haven't read about this combination of meds. Is my doctor crazy?? Any information you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated.
