Elaine, I don't think many people here realize how much you have already given to OUCH and to the convention. You have laid such excellent groundwork already, that it will be a breeze for your successor to pick up where you left off.
I'm proud of you for realizing that you need to put yourself FIRST for once in your life and spend some "Elaine Time" on your road to recovery. Your successor has some pretty big shoes to fill, there is no doubt of that.
But you need to stop feeling guilty for making the decision that you have. I KNOW how hard this decision has been for you and that the convention was your "baby". Time to let your baby walk on it's own now. Be proud of what you've done so far - you've done a wonderful job, girl.
We will all stand beside you while get well. Sometimes we might push you when you don't want us to, but we're going to anyways. It's because we love you. So THERE.
