Gary G, I know you get upset when you see
misleading information on the board. I
understand that completely, and I agree that
this posting is seriously flawed. However, I
think your postings correcting the record are
more effective when you restrict your comments
to the facts at issue. The personal comments,
even if 100% accurate, are distractions from
the important part of your message. Passionate
advocacy is good, unless it degenerates into
personal attacks.
An inavoidable side effect of open communication
is misinformation. Do we want to discourage
people from posting? I don't think so. If we
do, we risk throwing out the baby with the
bathwater.
