Hi,
my wife recently had a 3rd episode of cluster headaches, lasting about a month, 8 years since the last episode and a further 8 years from her first. We first tried ergotamine (painkiller) which only lengthened each headache, also indocin (anti-inflammatory) which had severe side effects of stomache pain (stomache lining burn).
Eventually a hospital doctor recommended Aspalgin (aspirin and codeine) and Retinidine or Zantac (antacid). Particularly the Aspalgin had a remarkable effect. If my wife took them at first sign of a headache she would completely avoid the headache. The episode completely ceased within 4 days of first intake of Aspalgin.
Just thought others might like to know as it was a huge relief for us.
