I too, have been suffering from clusters since I was 10 years old. For the longest time I was told that they were sinus headaches. I do have sinus problems, but definitly isn't the pain I experience. I was told recently after having numerous cat scans and MRI's, that my sinus passages become inflammed and start pressing against nerves causing the pain. I usually get clusters in the spring or in the fall, so at the begining of the year I start taking a channel blocker and use a steroid nasal spray, it seems to help. If I do get my yearly clusters, I usually get a perscription of Imitrix injections which eliminate the pain right away. The downfall is that each perscription only has two shots, and I easily use that in one night. Even with the copay, it gets to be expensive.
