I keep a 4% solution on hand, and it helps--a little. Like you, I was sent to a pharmacy that would mix it there, but I went to another--my usual--and he did research and found it already prepared--a lot cheaper. Since it did not come in a spray bottle, I simply bought a spray bottle of saline solution, emptied it and refilled it with the lidocaine. To use it, I lie with my head back and tilted to the right--my cluster side--to let the solution drain into the sinus cavities. It causes a mild numbness after a few minutes. It does help manage the pain, but does not abort the attack. My primary defense is oxygen. If you don't know about its use, check the info to the left of your screen, or email me.
