You will find a way to manage these damn things. Unfortunately, we have no other choice short of giving in. Just like the 30 and 40 year episodic sufferers on this board and the 20 year chronics, you'll get an education, you'll find a good job with decent medical insurance. You'll find a caring partner to help share the pain. You'll have loving children who understand that daddy gets headaches and they have to be quiet for a while and leave you alone. Oh there'll be lousey times. There'll be broken promises, cancelled trips, disappearing acts during the Holidays as you go to fight the demon. But it's far outweighed by the good. You'll do what you have to do just like the ones before you and just like the ones to follow. You'll do it because you'll have to! You'll do it because the alternative is unacceptable. You'll do it because your friends here at CH.com will make you do it. If you don't, you loose, we all loose.
Stay close Billy. Let us know what you need. We'll do our best and I know you'll do yours.
In remission, put fear aside. It doesn't help anything. Live, enjoy, laugh, love! When the demon comes prowling, suck it up and give the best fight you have. Your effort will be good enough to win. Everyone on this board is a living testimony to that. It won't be fun but you'll do it, because you have to.
