My doctor prescribed Amerge 2.5mg 2x@day, beginning last week, to be used as a preventative. So far, so good (fingers crossed). Here's the problem. Last week I was "allowed" to pay my $8.00 copay for 9 pills. Today, I was denied, and when I told the pharmacist that I would pay out of pocket, he just looked at me and laughed. ***$179.00 for 9 pills*** In case you haven't figured that one out, it's almost $20.00 @ pill. He showed me the printout from BC/BS, that stated I was allowed only 9 pills in 35 days. We pay almost $1,000.00 per month for our insurance.
When will the time come when insurance companies are investigated for their convoluted ways of taking care of their clients, followed by a HUGE investigation of the powerful drug companies and their equally absurd pricing policies.
