Since there is no know cure, the only way to treat these things is to try to break a cycle when it
starts. I'm currently on my second week of no headaches, after a 4-6 week hell. My Neuro wrote a
for Prednisone 80mg/day for two weeks. I was also taking 480mg/day of Verapamil. After the first
day, my H/A's decreased in numbers. I am now on a taper and haven't had any HA's. (Hope this cycle
is done) Find the right doctor - one that KNOWS about clusters and how to treat them. You'd be
surprised how many don't! Ask you GP to prescribe you some oxygen. Extremely effective for me - less
expensive than Imitrex.
