My own experience is that weekend/vacation/relaxation headaches are different from clusters. Verapamil has worked like magic for me in controlling my clusters. But I still get the quality-of-life-destroying other headaches. For me the difference is that W/V/R headaches don’t hurt as much. They’re like a bad hangover. I’ve never been able to compare cluster pain to anything else; The Demon is a horror unto itself. I can lie down and even go to sleep with a W/V/R headache. There is no way that I can even lie down with a cluster headache, let alone sleep.
