Hi Jon
do a web search for : "trigeminal nerve"
you should get a few sites that show map diagrams of the track of the trigem & its branches
the area involved is where the pain of cluster headache occurs
doesn't sound like what you're describing
as far as alcohol induced headache goes- (immediate distress, not hangover)
I have an immediate family member who is severely allergic to alcohol - in the regular sense of the word allergic - a single glass of wine results in a severe general headache, feverish feeling, etc etc, within a very short time
and of course, allergies vary as much as individuals, and vary over time in each individual,
so this might be something for you to consider
as far as CH goes-
what I was told a LONG time ago was:
booze doesn't cause CH
quitting booze won't cure CH
BUT if you have CH and drink, it will be a LOT worse
that seems to be the damn near universal experience of the folks on CHMB, and was certainly mine before I quit drinking altogether
