Much better than the steam treatment is to irrigate with
either saline or camomile. You can make your
own saline solution using either kosher salt or
pickling salt (don't use table salt). Some years
ago, I was told about irrigating with camomile by
an old Mexican woman who knows a lot of folk
medicine. My doctor's said it was ridiculous,
and about 10 years later decided that it was a
good idea after all. I find the salt more helpful
than the camomile. Start with a weak solution and
gradually increase the salt content.
