Ok, now that the body size is mentioned, I'm 5' 2'' and 105 lbs. Zomig samples my Dr. gave me didn't do a thing for me. Got a CH at 3 am, took 2.5 mg then another 2.5 mg at 3:30. If I have to rate the effectiveness, maybe it took 10% of the pain but prolonged the attack until 6 am, inhaling 8L oxygen all that time. I usually suffer for 45-60 minutes. However, Imitrex injection gets rid of the pain in minutes even with 1/3 of a shot. Agree, our body weight has something to do with it, but we just have to find meds that agree with us. I had absolutely no problem with a full shot of Imitrex in the first year, but the second year on, more than 1/3 a shot makes me throw up but still aborts the pain in minutes. We all have a different body weight and different tolerance & reaction to meds/dosages. Verapamil is usually really great, but one year it didn't help me at all. Newly diagnosed people have to go through heck of a time trying out meds to find the right combination, and my recommendation is once you find out what works with you, just stick with it. I personally regret trying Zomig while I knew Imitrex just does the trick because Zomig and Imitrex had to be 24 hours apart!
