The only nondrug treatment that seems to be
consistently effective is oxygen. Using a face
mask, you inhale 7-10 liters per minute for 15
minutes. It has to be prescribed by a doctor and
can be gotten at a medical supply place. You can
get a portable tank or a huge tank with a much
bigger capacity. Oxygen aborts a cluster within
a few minutes. Otherwise, to prevent the headaches
from coming or to reduce their intensity, Prednisone
or Verapamil are drugs that come to mind.
Unlike migraines, which have several known triggers,
clusters don't seem to have definite triggers,
except for alcohol (a big no-no) and tobacco. I've
also noticed that bright sunlight can trigger a
h/a.
