I had been on verapamil for six months, and I, too, found it to be very constipating.
My neurologist then recommended tiazac -- said it was almost the same as verapamil (my pharmacist said the same thing), but much less "binding."
I've been on the tiazac for two months now, and what they said was true, for me, so anyone with similar problems (and that seems to be almost everyone), might want to ask their doctors about it.
Not incidentally, I've found the tiazac to be equally effective in controlling the headaches.
