My whole side of my face swells, not just the blood vessels. When I'm in the cycle my face is usually always a little swollen but during an attack it swells even more. It also affects the 'muscles' in that side of the face and they swell...might be what all my swelling is.
There are blood vessels and nerves close to the ear and the roar u hear is probably from the blood in the blood vessels.
