I am 51 years old and have been suffering from clusters since I was 18. I also have tried Imitrex. Imitrex used to work for me and ward of another for at least 24 hours now it only works for about 6 or so hours. I take a drug called Verapamil every day(360 mg) it also has lessened in its ability to ward off attacks. I have tried most drugs known over the years. Within the past 5 to 8 years I have seen the most effective ones. I am presently going through a series of clusters that have lasted now for 2 months. My Dr. and I are trying to get a handle on these with little luck. I recently had neck surgery to correct a dick problem and the clusters started about 3 weeks after. Unknown if there is any connection. In the meantime we keep trying. It is sometimes hell to survive.
