I'm a recovering alcoholic. When I wasn't in an active cluster, I could drink anything and everything (and often did) with no headaches other than hangovers. When in a cluster, 1/2 a beer meant a raging 10 in 5-10 minutes.
When I quit drinking 9 years ago. My clusters immediately went from every 8-9 months to every 2 years. That's the only difference.
One of the other ladies also said that while on the pill they had no headaches.
In my reading the other day it said that while in a migraine or cluster (don't remember exactly which one it was) the person shows lowered level of estrogen or testosterone. So there very well could be a hormonal link. I also read a lot of women complain of headaches during the non-pill days each month.
Wish I could be more specific but that's all I know.
