I too, have been a CH sufferer for a while and have abandoned the ingestion of any meds during this current cycle. At the first hint of pain, I quickly drink two cups of strong non-decaf (regular) coffee. Slowly sipping the coffee doesn't seem to work. It must be drunk like a glass of water. The headaches abate within 10-15 minutes. When I first tried this technique, I was concerned about not being able to fall asleep because of the caffeine blast. Not a problem. I think that the anticipation of CH pain is sufficiently exhausting to overcome caffeine's tendency to keep me awake. Good luck.
