First episode at 18. Treated with Fiorinal. No help.
Next 22 years, cluster every 8-9 months, 6 weeks long, 2-3 HA a day. Treat w/cafergot.
Last 9 years remissions have grown to 2-1/2 years. Cluster increased to 12 weeks duration.
Last cluster Dec '98 - Feb '99 - 5 weeks long.
Main treatment for duration has been cafergot, ercaf, ergostat & medihaler. All ergots but in different forms.
also tried O2, Inderal, Indocine, Amitriptilyne, sansert, verapamil, lidocaine nasel spray, darvocette, vicodin, tylenol/codiene and probably forgetting a few.
Headaches in afternoon, evening and 1-1/2 hours after sleep. 0-10 in ten minutes. 10-0 in five minutes. Treated duration 15 - 20 minutes, untreated 2 hours(these are killer, true unadulterated 10's, shivers down the spine just talking about it).

So, I'm pain free for now & probably for 2 more years, That's why it's so easy to joke on the board. I know ther isn't much I can to help others pain except maybe give em a smile now and then. Besides, I've kinda taken a likin' to ol' hub.
