Thought I might share some good news with everyone, since a lot of what I have been reading lately has not been happy news. It may be a little premature to say that the "fat lady is singing", but I can sure hear her hummin' -- just off stage.
It's been nearly two weeks since my last encounter with the Beast. This cycle started in mid-August. After a remission period of nearly eight years, my mind had forgotten what I used to go through every six months or so. I also forgot the med levels necessary to keep the Beast at bay. So He struck with His usual regularity every 24 hours or so for his normal 45-60 minutes dance set. Once I got my Verapamil SR dosages right (180mg 3x per day)the attacks were surpressed. Began to wean myself off verapamil this past weekend (now down to 2x per day) with no recurrence. Hope to be med-free by next weekend.
I want to thank all of you for being here. It was wonderful to know (for the first time) that I was not alone in this affliction. Your support has made things so much easier this time. The information here has been helpful to me and my doctor, especially in establishing med levels.
I plan to stay around the site for a long time to come, if no one has any objections. ( And those of you who do have objections, please keep them to yourself -- LOL ). As new sufferers join the site almost daily, perhaps by tossing out my 2 cents worth from time to time, I will be able to help someone the way I was helped. Besides, I'm planning on going to Las Vegas next summer, and I want to know the details so I can make reservations early.
You are all in my prayers nightly. I hope you all have painfree days and nights in the very near future. Once again, thank you all.
