Imitrex works on a lot of people. It is in the triptan family along with maxalt and a few others. I decided not to take it even though it worked at times for me because it says all over the place to not take if you have heart diease or family of heart disease, my dad died of heart disease. Anyway I would tell the doc "no triptans" and then he would give me another one with a different name. I would ask the pharmist " Is this a triptan? " and she won't know! Be carefull!!! Also, get samples from the doc then go back and get some from the nurse and then stop in and get some more! Imitrix was $10.00 a dose a few years ago, now it is down to a whopping $12.00 for 6 doses!!! Know your meds!!!!! good luck,sam
