Yes, this past spring I was lucky enough to get a cluster and a migraine at the same time. I do not believe that is a cluster migraine. MY definition is under the "ABOUT.COM" thread from yesterday.
When I had both at the same time, my body did not know what to do.....should I try and lay down? Do I need to pace? Should I scream? Should I be quiet and rest? It was very confusing and I ended up in the ER. I had 3 clusters over a period of 24 hours along with a migraine that lasted about 36 hours. Even the Imitrex didn't touch them! I hope to never go through that again! It wasn't pleasant.
And yes, clusters and migraines are quite different. That's why I am so curious as to what a person is suffering from if they say they have "cluster migraines".
