Oh, I know how bad a migraine can be, Cath, but only from hearing about it and reading about it, thank God. For *me*, a migraine is mainly a really, really bad headache that’s so awful that I can’t enjoy *anything* about life for maybe three hours or for maybe three weeks, at the most. All that I can do is lie in bed and curse my fate. But that’s all. Since you’re a person who’s had to deal with *real* migraines, my kind of migraine probably sounds almost like a joke. On the other hand, for one of my sisters-in-law, a migraine is everything that you describe and maybe more. In fact, the eye on the affected side is so sensitive to light that she has to wear a special eyepatch, because lying in a dark room with her eyes closed is just not enough.
You know, if you read a book about it, you find out that there are a bunch of different kinds of migraines. I’ll bet you’d find out the same thing about clusters, if the research ever got done and the book ever got written. For me and a lot of other members of this board, the claim that a “typical“ cluster attack lasts only a half-hour sounds like nonsense. For me, “typical” means about seven hours and I’ve read postings here from people whose cluster attacks last even longer than that.
