Chronics cope by just coping.... do we have another choice? (well except the one everyone gets upset about us mentioning!) Personally, I keep thinking that someday, someone will "accidentally" stumble upon a "simple" cause and cure for this thing we call CH. (Right now I've got a lot of hope riding on Topamax.)
Depression and Sleep Deprivation are our two worst enemies (the pain causes both). The one defense mechanism I've found among the chronics I've met and/or talked to on the phone is the ablility to "laugh" at ourselves and at each other. If we didn't have a sense of humor, I really don't think any of us would survive.
