good job Michelle !!!!!
one of the older proposed names for CH was
"histaminic cephalalgia"
apparently there is a tremendous overflow of histamine associated with an attack
question is:
cause, effect or irrelevant co-event
i DO know that simple benadryl has a definite beneficial level for me, in heavy doses, for part of my CH management therapy
of course, it is an "antihistamine"
problem is, the same med has all kinds of effects besides just relieving allergy attacks, (sleep aid, motion sickness relief, etc)
so it doesn't prove much very clearly
I think one PROBLEM we need to sort out is caused by the long co-mingling of CH and migriane info in the literature,
red wine IS a very common migraine trigger
is it the grapes or the alcohol ?
if someone feels red wine is a trigger for CH I would be more apt to suspect the alcohol as the primary trigger
