This may not sound like a BIG deal to some of you newbies on this board, but for those who know me, I WORKED ALL WEEK this past week Monday through Friday - every day. First time I've been in the office in a year and it was GREAT.
Now, I'm not saying I did a whole lot of work.... but I did visit with a lot of people and I ALMOST got to the top of my desk (found the remote control to my stereo and the keyboard to my computer). My eyesight still isn't good enough to look at numbers real well, but I did answer the phone some and some of my clients even recognized my voice. A couple of them even talked to me instead of my partner (of course they had to talk to her if they needed an answer to a question but that was just little details!).
I had lunch with the mayor three days this week and dinner with him one night (oh come on - this is politicks - there were some more people there) attended two special sessions of the city council budget hearings, testified as an "expert" on the budget (got to tell them where to put the budget - "in the trash can") and all in all had a VERY busy and "productive" week. Kinda like NORMAL.
This is the first time in over two years (from the time I went chronic) that I've felt even anywhere near normal (or the best I remember as being normal). I've had energy, a reason to want to get up in the morning and NO DEPRESSION. It's been wonderful. Only had a couple of breakthrough HAs and I took some Ercaf and just refused to give in (got to them before they got to me!).
Just started week #3 of the Topamax and either it's working or I'm getting tougher cause this is the best I've been in over two years and right now I feel like I can do anything (afraid to say that too loud given my past track record, but....).
Oh and I had a new grand-nephew make an appearance on Tuesday morning about 3am, weighing in at 8 1/2 pounds and his name is Nathan. So old Aunt Barb's chest expanded a whole bra size.
Like I said, I don't know what's causing this new found energy spurt and wellness, but whatever it is, I hope it keeps up cause this is the best I've felt since I was diagnosed with CH. If it's the Topamax (and that's the ONLY med - except Ercaf, PRN, I'm taking at this time - started on 150mg. yesterday)then maybe all the chronics should try it.
Ok, guess ya'll have heard enough of my giddiness for one Saturday (but I can't help it - I am that happy). It's just that I haven't been this "well" in a long long time and I "needed" to share it. But I'll go do some housecleaning now and use up some of this newfound energy (and believe me it will take a 'lot' of this newfound energy to "clean" my house). Ya'll have a great weekend.
Hugs BD
