Very nicely written Jack. It is my understanding that Calan SR is the same thing as Verapamil. (The "SR" stands for "slow release") Calan SR has worked wonderfully for me as well. No adverse side effects. Been on various dosages from 240mg/day to 720mg/day. Either of these two preventative medicines should be the first choice by doctors as a preventative for Cluster Headaches. Assuming the patient has normal blood pressure and no heart problems.
