I am lucky enough to have a doctor who does listen to my pain! He gets upset when I don't get back to him right away if something does not work. And he tells me that he doesn't even get headaches himself but just the beginnings of arthritis are nagging him and he feels much sympathy with chronic pain sufferers! But to make a separte discipline, hooray!! So what if you don't die of cluster headaches; you often wish you would.
I have heard enough horror stories about persons dying and not having their pain adequately addressed. If Jack Kevorkian has done anything I think he has stimulated some people (hopefully doctors!) to help people in pain before they get to the point of thinking of suicide, assisted or not.
