Under the guidance and direction of my Neurologist; I am undertaking the use of Topamax as a preventative medication for Cluster Headaches. Before I began the treatment of Topamax; I had to decrease the current medication of Neurontin, (it stopped working). I also decreased my intake of Calan SR (Verapamil). I did all this under the watchful eye of my Neurologist. He suggested that I re-include the use of Calan SR, (Verapamil) with the Topamax as a preventative treatment for my Cluster Headaches. As of now that dose of Calan SR remains at 480mg/day, (240mg/a.m & 240mg/p.m). My Neurologist and I, so far, plan to leave this dose, "as is". You are correct: I used to be at a higher dose of 720mg Calan SR, (Verapamil). I would strongly urge you to discuss ALL medication treatments with your Neurologist. Good Luck!
