Dear Kathy: I know where your husband is coming from! I've had clusters for 11 years; they were in remission for (can you believe)4 years until last November. Since then pretty constant and very severe with no sleep and to the point where I was thinking the same thoughts he was. However, an abortive has turned everything around. Zomigtriptan, originally 5mg orally at the onset of an attack and true relief for 10-12 hrs. Now I'm down to 2.5 mg and attacks are less frequent.
It may be that my CH's are going into remission but you might look into it. They are, however, very expensive (naturally)! Good luck!
