The analytic mind of gary g has come up with a term that we should include in our vocabulary!
Aura is a visual thing belonging to migraine, and we should leave it so, but 'precursors' is a good word for the 'early warning' signs some of us get shortly before an attack.
BTW, precursor #3 of gary exactly describes my precursor. I always can feel a little bump on my palate with the tip of my tongue. Sometimes it gets a little 'itchy' for an hour or two, both in and out of cycle. But when it starts to hurt more, it's time to run for the O2, otherwise pain goes to the upper teeth, and soon to the cheek, which is the main site for the demons attack for me. I had several doctors have a look at this spot, including a dentist and two nose-throat specialists, but no one did see anything (unusual). I ask to look out for this spot when I had my MRI, but nothing showed up there neither.
