With me, anything that doesn't work fast enough is
not effective. This is why the cafergot never
really worked. Once I felt the h/a coming on, and
took the pill, the 20-30 minutes it took for the
pill to take effect was too late and the h/a was
already in full force. Oxygen works for me, but
only when I can get to quick enough. At night, I
wake up with only the very beginnings of a h/a and
the oxygen works very well. However, at work, I
will fight it (stupidly) and try to finish just
one more thing, and then its too late.
Regarding imitrex, I've found that the side effects
are far outweighed by the benefits. But never the
less, I still try to beat the h/a with anything
else first. I guess that I should try to get
some oxygen in Japan, but I can't see wheeling it
into business meetings. At work, I keep my tank
in my car and make a quick getaway if need be.
On a tangent, when I was taking the cafergot, the
pills were cream colored with an "S" embossed on
them. My kid called them superman pills.
Best of luck
Rick
