The point of this whole discussion is this...
You have to realize that the majority of people - cluster people - on this site have been misdiagnosed for YEARS, some for DECADES, as having migraines. Treatments for migraines do not treat clusters. The problem sets for each affliction are different as well and that is a big purpose of this forum, discussing cluster-associated problems.
If my husband is a stereotypical cluster sufferer (and I'm 99% sure he is), he is extremely sick and tired of being labelled incorrectly and people assuming they understand what he goes through when they are assuming he is going through migraine symptoms. Naturally, an animosity is going to build up over the years.
We're trying to compare apples to oranges here and it's just never going to work. No one is saying that there is anything wrong with the apples OR the oranges. Just that they belong in their own boxes, not each others'.
We have, QUITE OFTEN, in the past directed the "apples" to their proper boxes and have very politely suggested they get a second opinion as to their classification. Most of the apples thank us and go do some more research to find out that they really are apples. Then we get the idiot apples who just keep trying to insist that they are oranges and then try to attack the oranges for wanting to remain a solid unified group by themselves.
Now there are some people who are both apples and oranges and that's ok. We just ask that they talk about their apple problems with other apples and their orange problems here. Is that so wrong, Cathy?
We all know you're a teacher so I'm sure you can relate to yet another example. Kids from different grades don't usually associate with each other do they? Nor, do the teachers encourage it, do they? It's again not saying that any one grade is better than the other one, just that they are at different stages, studying different things. Why is it so wrong to delineate between obvious distinctions?
Just most of our opinions I think.
