My girlfriend has been diagnosed with cluster headaches.
But the more I hear and read about it the less I think
this is true. Her headaches started, not out of the
blue, but after a 65lb object fell on her head. It hit
her on the top right side of her head and knocked her
out but did not fracture her skull.
Her headaches definately seem as disabling as cluster
headaches sound but don't go away after a couple of
hours. And she has yet to find a medication that will
kill the pain unless it knocks her out completely.
Fiernol only dulls it some while giving her a drugged
feeling.
Hers last 3-5 days, she is bedridden and feels
like ripping her right eye out. She may then get a few
days to 2 weeks break between. During the break times
she is not pain free. She discribes a dull pressure type
headache that feels like she's wearing a helmet.
Other symptoms include - muscle spasms in her neck,
eyes, shoulders and right arm; the feeling of electrical
shocking in her brain stem and pons area; the feeling of
hitting her funny bone when she moves her right arm;
ringing of the ears mostly in the right ear; her hearing
sometimes sounds like the buzzing of a broken speaker;
and there are other things that I can't remember.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
