Can't stand the side effects of all the drugs-
esp. Prednisone & Calan.
Tried acupuncture yesterday and hoping.
Anyone else have any success?
In '73 when I lived in SF and experienced acute
episodic vasular headaches (don't think they were cluster)
about 1/ month generally after relaxation or sleep,
in those days cafergot or a pain killer would stop it.
I went to a real Chinese acupuncturist- his waiting rm had
only Chinese patients, he did not speak English,
I had 9 treatments, after each treatment felt
trance-like lightness, he put needles from head-to toes,
and didn't
have another headache for 10 years!
SInce moving East tried acupuncture but didn't work,
even from neurologist of Chinese heritage. Tried it
again from a acupunctue clinic in NYC but no results.
Location points were different and didn't experience
trance-like lightness after session.
Now I have true full blown chronic clusters and medications
only seem to work a little, sometimes, & w/ bad side-effects.
Yesterday tried acupuncture again, this time from
a woman born and trained (learned the art) in China.
Her name is Wu and operated out of an herb store on
Mott St in Chinatown, catering to Chinese.
Her style still wasn't same as first one in '73
but I'm hoping for the best and will keep you posted.
Anyone else have any results from acupuncture?
