Well I finally saw my neuro today, first time since March. Woke up sick as a dog today. Must of been all the butt licking yesterday. Had to wait 75 minutes to get in. I started getting a Ch in the waiting room. Not too bad at first and then Wam, it went to a 5 , and then a 6. And who walks in and sits across from me but some loud obnoxious kid. I thought I was going to scream right there. Thank you God, I got called in after 10 more minutes.I was armed with over 50 pages of info from this site. He doubted that I could bring him anything off the internet that he didn't know about already or of any validity. You could almost see the smoke coming out of my ears but I remained calm. I asked if he knew of Dr.Goadsby's report, NO. I took it along also a report by CBS. I asked if he had heard of Dr. Klapper in Denver, NO. But he said, that is just one persons opinion of the study. Has the Dr published it yet, well no not yet. Asked if he saw Larry King with Dr. Diamond. NO. He thinks he is an idiot. Not even a neurologist, a general practioner. Ha thought that was funny. He seems to think that the percentage of women suffers is less than 10%. Decided not to argue since I wanted my prescriptions today. Oh this is the really funny part, the typical male sufferer is a blue collar worker, has a craggy face, and stoic. How many of you guys fit that description? He was reluctant to accept any of my pages since people are always bringing him things like that off the internet but he did take them. Had the Kip scale with me and the medical info. I told him if nothing else he could use them in his fireplace this winter.
Now to me, he agreed to increase my Verapamil to 720. Also is giving me Sansert 2 times a day. He knew of Topamax and thought it was safe to use. We talked about Neurontin but he decided no on that and went with the sansert. I refused Lithium due to past experience with it for something else. He even wrote me a script for 81 Imitrex pills with no problem, so my old pharmacist was WRONG!!!! HA HA! ALso gave me all the other scrips I wanted for Darvocet and free samples of Maxalt. Oh, I asked him if I get these interviews going would he participate and he said Yes very quickly. So felt relieved about the visit and at least getting my medicine at the dosage I wanted. Go back in 3 months.
Now, wondering what is people's experience with Sansert? He said could only take for 6 months, then off 1 month. Otherwise should have no problems with it. I hope so because I am hitting the road again on Sept. 3rd. Going to Glenn and Patty's in Louisana. Even bought me a fast new laptop to take with me.
Well, I can now breathe a sigh of relief this day is over with. I am a natural born worrier. Also gave me a permanent excuse from jury duty. Yea! When I called the judges office the gal said her sister has those, so I referred her to this site.
One more thing, took him Kips experience with cool O2. He seemed surprised by that but curious.
Thanks family for those that expressed concern for me today. You all are the greatest CH people on the earth.
