The beast is back and has been for 4 weeks. This is a little later than my normal 1:30 appointment with him. However the pain is always the same. My cycle starts slow, 1 CH every other day, soon followed by 1 a day then 2 to 3 a day and by the third month 5 to 7 a day. The meds for the most part don't work. Sitting up suffering has become a ritual that no person should have to go through. I wouldn't wish a CH on my worst enemy. OH, what I would do for a shot of imitrex. It is the only thing that has worked for me so far but the doc says no more. Thanks doc. Maybe I would wish at least a days worth of CH's on you. If you haven't had one you can't really appreciate the pain.
I do find that this site helps release energy. The more I concentrate on writing about the pain and the beast itself the better I start to feel. I have often told freinds that I don't beleive I will ever know what life is like without a headache. My cycle lasted 7 months last year. And even when I'm not in a cycle I will have many other headaches. Ones that you can actually take A BC for.
I always ask my self what did I do wrong in life. I was a good kid until I hit 16. Then went to drinking, then smoking pot. Never really did any hard drugs. Partied alot but never did any harm. Got married at 21 then divorced by 26. Then started drinking heavy. More into pot, then started snorting cocaine. I had mostly migraines as kid, CH didn't start in til I was around 24. I was addicted to coke for about 3 to 4 years. During that time I had very few CH's. 10/30/89 I gave up drinking and cocaine. I have been clean ever since. I straightened out my life, moved to SC, bought a house, got a good job and have gone up hill from there. I am doing better with all aspects of my life now than ever before, except one area, CH's. Still can't get any releif from the pain. There is so little reasearch in this feild that they really don't have any meds specificaly for CH. I know there are some, but not many.
Sure hate to bore people but you are the only ones I can relate to. I'm not to fast at typing, and in the time it has taken to ramble on the beast has started to leave me for a another few hours. Just to talk, read the message board and think of all the others that suffer with me, actually seems to be releif. At least something helps, the meds don't work and besides I'm sick of popping pills. I will try to go back to sleep so I can somewhat funtion at work tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for being here when I need to talk. This bunch is the best. Sweet dreams.............
