Hi, All
Well, Rich has been on Topamax for 3 weeks.
Sorry I haven't been able to keep you posted.
Rich started the Topamax on a monday
1st week: 25 mg morning & 25mg at night. continued to get ch's
no side effects.
2nd week: 50mg morning & 50mg at night. First of the week continued to get ch's.
And on Wendsday I noticed slight side effects
noticed he had trouble finding words that he wanted to say.
Friday night was the first night with NO ch. sat & Sun NO ch.
3rd week (Monday 8-16): 75mg morning & 75mg night.
Monday took Topamax 75mg am & pm
Tuesday morning took meds.
Tuesday towards evening I noticed that Rich was very confused..
This worried me. Called our Doc (I have his home #).
Lowered med back down to 50mg am & pm
wendsday noticed he was still confused.
Thursday lowered it back down to 25mg am & pm
Friday he still had a little confusion. But not as bad.
As of today saturday very little confusion. And
he is on his 8th day of NO ch.
During this past week he has mostly been sleeping.I
keep track of his meds. and give it to him at the regular times.
After fighting this ch battle for 5 months. I thank god
that he is now getting some restful sleep.
As for me, the last 5 months have been a hell of a ride.
But this weeks ride was the worst.
But I know that we will all be pain-free one day.
