My experience is that my neuro had to UP my
dosage periodically. I started on half a
180mg. That worked for awhile and then we had
to bump it up to a full 180 mg, then one and a
half was necessary. Today he had to go to a
two full ones. One in morning and one in evening.
He said he may have to slowly keep increasing it
to almost double that. But we have to take it
slowly and gradually. For two reasons, your body
needs to adjust to it and your body gets use
to an even dosage and then breakthru or rebound
occurs. Next week he wants me off the Imitrex
and onto DHE nasal spray. I like the Imitrex pill.
It has this long lasting affect and doesn't shock
the hell out of my body like the sprays and
shots did. My heart started having problems with
it two years ago. A shot last 3 to 4 hours tops
and the pill gives me half a day. (25mg)... but
I have to take the pill then break it with an
Oxygen tank. I also discovered something else.
Whenever I break the headache with oxygen - instead
of getting off it right away - I stay on it about
another 10 minutes. It clears all the webs out
my head and I stay HA free much longer.
Anyway, please let me know how it goes with the
Verapamil. I would like to see how it is working
for you. I'm only in the middle of my cycle too
and i'm taking twice the verapamil you are.
God bless.
