Hi Kathy! Please get your husband to this board to see that others do indeed suffer with this and understand his feelings about it all!! He is not alone and we've all had the same feelings at one time or another.
You said you laid it all out on the line for the doctor last week. Did you tell her his feelings with the suicide? If so, that doctor should be reported to the med board for not responding to her patient! And I would think about getting another doctor.
I think some on here the doctors have put them into the hospital with IV's to help with the pain, maybe some of them can respond more on what that was about.
I was the one who put on about the sleep apnea, that the machine they gave the guy stopped his clusters. I hope he will go and get it checked out. If he has a cluster while there maybe those doctors will take an interest more than the doctor he has now.
Has he ever gone to a pain clinic?
Believe me, you have been a great help to him to have such a loving and caring wife that searches out for answers for him.
The people here will understand and not judge him.
My heart goes out to you both. There is hope!! We just have to keep trying but I also understand the feeling of not wanting to.
I also understand your feelings too. My husband has been suffering from headaches, not clusters, for a year with nothing that seems to help. And I'm not able to help him either, so now I know what it's like to have the shoe on the other foot and I can tell you that it's no fun either. Luckly I've been in remission this yr so WE haven't had to deal with that too.
Sometimes we can't handle things alone and need others strength to get thru what we are going thru and this is the place for cluster people, and how lucky we are to have this place, thanks DJ! There is nothing wrong with a man to ask for help or woman for that matter.
We need each other and we need your husbands imput here too!
