You do not mention what kind of doctor you are going to, but if he/she does not know what Imitrex is, change doctors. It is widely know to use for clusterheadaches. My doctor took the approach of finding a pill to prevent these. I am on Verapamil and it does help but you have to get it at the highest doseage for you. That varies person to person. There are many other drugs to prevent, Like Depakote, Lithium, prednisone, the list goes on and on. You need to see a neurologist if possible and one hopefully that has some experience with CH. I would suggest if you have the time, read some of the archives posted for past info and our medical pages are great and you can print those off, also take our survery. Welcome to this board.
