Hi Alley,
Yes, for my husband, his cycle definitely has a pattern. He'll get hit with one mediocre attack all of a sudden, then within days he is going full blown at 4 - 6 attacks per day. This cycle usually lasts 6 - 8 weeks. During the later stages, he'll suddenly miss a "scheduled" attack, then they gradually become fewer and further between. During this downslide, sometimes the attacks will be shorter in duration and he'll get this amazed look on his face after he's all prepared to do the battle, and say , "It's GONE!". This last cycle, however, was broken by him trying the water treatment. He was at the peak of his cycle then, within two days, he noticed a dramatic reduction of pain and the cycle was GONE within the week. Nothing. He's been in remission for 9 months now and every now and then we can see the signs of a cycle trying to start back up again but so far, it just dies off if he starts pounding the water again.
Let me know if you need more info on the water treatment, just email me directly.
Another way to tell that the cycle is coming to an end is a full night's sleep, without being awakened by the Beast. We tried the Dramamine (Gravol in Canada) in order to force a night's sleep for Mike, but if it's to end naturally, this has always been a signal for us.
Hang in there. Hope you both find relief soon.
