Katie,
Don't ever be ashamed of being sick. THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT!
I'm an accountant and my clients and co-workers are so used to me having these things that they notice the signs before I do (my left eye starts swelling shut BEFORE the pain hits). I've had clients stop me in the middle of a conference and tell me to go take something. My co-workers watch my eye and tell me when it's swelling. They don't want to see me go through the pain (I"m not a nice person during an attack).
And for all those sympathic jerks who "know exactly how you feel, cause I had a bad headache one time"..... well it's against the law in most states to kill them, so we just learn to ignore those remarks, although when I'm above a 6, usually someone gets "them" out of my way!
Guess what I'm trying to say is - EDUCATE those you work around all the time. Explain what's wrong with you and what you want them to do should a CH hit. And don't get upset with all the "articles" they bring you on Miracle Cures. They mean well. Good luck.
Hugs BD
