Hi Linda....thanks for your message. I have to say I am quite overwhelmed by peoples kindness and care. I havent quite worked out how to do this, and have messages in the guest book, messages on the message board...I'm not really stupid, I think it's all the medication!!!!
Anway, if you look at my latest message, I think that answers your question on how to get a doctor to give you what you want. I must admit, the only time I did have a bit of a problem, was when I lived in the States, but even then, after shopping around, I found a great guy in Springfield, VA, who told me that as a Neurologist, he felt that he could learn from me. Isn't that lovely? He spoke to me as an equal, he had studied cluster headaches, but I had HAD THEM, giving me an advantage over him. (his words not mine). To my mind, a good Doctor will give you what you need, if you can give him the facts and the proof that what you are asking for is what you need. Why would they not??
If you went in and asked for a medicine unrelated to the illness, I could understand some aprehension - but Imitrex is
hardly used for much else. If I'm not being very clear (every possibility of that!!) please come back and ask me some more. Kinds regards....Judi
