I'm sure some of you will get a kick out of CH story....14 years ago I lived in Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf, one night I remember well, I was nearing the end of a cycle, it was about 9pm and I got a nasty one - in those days, I used to take 6 dissovable asprin, and hunker down. This was my fist experience of "rebounds"....every hour until 6 am the next morning. I just kept taking asprin - it was the worst pain I'd ever had. By the morning, I'd taken at least 28 or so and was in agony. Worse still, I had loud ringing in my ears (overdose). My friends picked me up out of the corner of the room, threw me in their car, and took me to the ER. I somehow managed to get across to them what I'd taken and why. They promptly proceeded to pump my stomach(my head still raging) and call the police, because in Islam, its against the law to try and commit suicide. They wouldn't believe me, there I am through my tears, trying to explain to six Arab police officers, who speak broken English, that I was just trying to get rid of my pain. They were going to put me in Jail - because it's an offence to attempt suicide! Somewhere in all of this mayhem, as they were just about to cart me off to prison,(head STILL raging)someone came along from somewhere, gave me a shot of morphine, and put me in a ward for two days to sleep. Can you imagine being in prison, inside of the prison we are already in?? I can laugh now - but shit, it was a close call.
