Yea that pisses me off also. I have been through that but women seem to get this responce, including my sister's GP. Can you you sue for sexual bias. Sounds like this guy is lazy and probably did not take the opportunity to continue education in his field.
I am sorry you got such a crappy neuro. Sounds like he places ego over intellect and his responce to your questions was sexist and entirely dogmatic-guess work or not based on any research. I would report him to the AMA board
